ENTANGLED for a good cause

Many months ago, I was approached by Edie Ramer to contribute a short story to an anthology that was very special – all the proceeds would go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Eleven authors contributed, ten are short stories, one is a novella. All for the price of $2.99, and every single cent made goes to charity. Even the outstanding cover design, by Laura Morrigan, and the ebook formatting, by Lori Devoti, were donated. This anthology has been a labour of love for everyone concerned. Author Stacia Kane has contributed a foreword, and the anthology will be for sale at all bookstores that sell ebooks from September 12th.

The short story authors include Edie Ramer, Misty Evans, Lori Brighton, Michelle Diener, Cynthia Eden, Jennifer Estep, Nancy Haddock, Liz Kreger, Dale Mayer, Michelle Miles and there is a novella by New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan.

The thread running through all the stories in the anthology is Halloween and the paranormal.

As someone who has lost three close family members to cancer, and who has a close writing friend still undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, and another who is a survivor, I was honoured to be invited to contribute. Even though the contemporary paranormal genre is not my milieu, I threw myself into my story, aptly entitled BREAKING OUT, and had a lot of fun writing it. The historical fiction author in me couldn’t get over not having to do much research!

Here is the quick blurb for my story: BREAKING OUT by Michelle Diener โ€“ Imprisoned in a secret facility, powerful telekinetic Kelli Barrack and two other ‘special’ inmates grab a chance to escape, only to confront their worst nightmares on the outside.

Here is the official press release.

Authors4TheCure Donating Book Proceeds To Breast Cancer Research

Eleven authors have banded together to support breast cancer research with their writing. Authors4theCure, which includes award-winning and New York Times bestselling authors, as well as two breast cancer survivors, is donating proceeds from the sale of their paranormal anthology, Entangled, to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

BCRF-funded research has helped save lives and improved the quality of care and rate of survival for tens of thousands of breast cancer patients in the past decade. Their research has revealed that the “cure” is a mosaic made up of as many approaches to diagnosing, treating, preventing and surviving as there are different types of breast cancer. The anthology is also a mosaic made up of many stories donated for this worthwhile cause.

Entangled includes ten suspense-filled paranormal stories from authors Lori Brighton, Michelle Diener, Cynthia Eden, Jennifer Estep, Misty Evans, Nancy Haddock, Liz Kreger, Dale Mayer, Michelle Miles, and Edie Ramer, plus a novella by Allison Brennan. Stacia Kane contributed the foreword and the bookโ€™s formatting and cover art were also donated to the project.

Entangled released September 12, 2011, and is available as an ebook at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and other online retailers.
